What happens after eviction from east Jerusalem? Part 2

By Sabrina Myre

This week marks the fiftieth anniversary of the six-day war between Israel and its neighbours: Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Israel won a clear victory. It meant the ancient part of Jerusalem, in the east, came under the control of Israel and half a century later Palestinians are still fighting in the courts to keep their homes in east Jerusalem.

The UN says that in the ancient walled part of Jerusalem, which has many sacred sites and which has an area of just under one square kilometre, there are 21 households in danger of being evicted.

In this second report of a two-part series, Sabrina Myre explores their desire to come back to the old city and its consequences.
