From 1975 to 1990, Lebanon endured a brutal civil war that uprooted over 1 million people. But now, some parts of the country are looking to permanently heal old wounds, and begin a new chapter. The Lebanese village of Brih is the last of 90 villages in the mountainous Chouf region whose Christian residents will have all returned by 17 May this year. They were driven out during the 1983 "War of the Mountains", where Druze and Christian Lebanese fought to control the Chouf region.
