More must be done to improve French competitiveness, OECD

A key member of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development has urged France to continue relaxing labour laws to make its economy more competitive. Speaking to RFI at a conference on European competitiveness at the OECD's Paris headquarters, the organisation's Deputy Secretary General, Rintaro Tamaki, praised French politicians for making the labour market more flexible. But he and other economists say this is just the first step in returning France and Europe to economic growth.
