Ukraine series, part 2

Issued on:

According to the European Commission 5 million people require humanitarian assistance in Ukraine, with 1.3 million in need of food assistance. Thousands of people continue to live close to the front line, in areas beyond government control, and those who have been displaced. The World Food Program (WFP) with the help of key NGO partners has distributed so far more than 200,000 vouchers and parcels. But with winter looming people living in the eastern buffer zone are the most vulnerable. RFI’s Filip Warwick travelled to Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine to find out more.

The registration process is crossed-checked by the WFP’s NGO partners. Here a beneficiary registering at the People in Need office.
