TGV service disrupted after train hits pedestrian on Paris-Strasbourg line

High-speed TGV trains were seriously disrupted in eastern France on Friday morning after one hit a pedestrian on the line between Paris and Strasbourg.

The 6.13 from Paris hit the pedestrian at Puisieulx in the Marne region at 7.10am, the SNCF

has announced without giving details of the victims’ condition.

The train, which had about 50 passengers on board, was due in Strasbourg at 8.10am but was expected to be immobilised until 10.15am.

About 10 other trains were expected to be late as well, sources told the AFP news agency, although there were no cancellations.
