Disneyland worker threatens suicide

A worker at Disneyland Paris tried to commit suicide on Thursday. He threatened to throw himself off a bridge on the edge of the theme park but two managers persuaded him not to after half an hour's negotiation.

The worker, identified only as C, perched on a 10-metre-high bridge along the route of a little train on the border of the theme park.

He then threatened to jump while demanding to see Disneyland management. The park's director and another member of management talked him down.

Several witnesses said the man got off the bridge in tears, blaming his manager for his actions, according to Le Parisien.

The worker, who was a representative of a small trade union, was working half-time because of problems encountered at work, according to Disneyland management.

Three Disneyland workers killed themselves at their homes last year, and another tried to in the park itself.
