Pearl Square numbers swell ahead of new Bahrain rally
Protesters carrying food and tents poured into Manama’s Pearl Square on Monday as the Bahraini opposition called for a massive turnout for a new rally Tuesday. Twenty-year-old Redha Mohammed died of his wounds Monday after being shot on Friday, opposition leaders say.

Workers and students calling for improved living standards have joined the demonstrators, whose ranks began to swell after the army withdrew from the square Saturday.
The demonstrators demanded an end to the al-Khalifa monarchy and for security officials to be put on trial for the seven deaths since their movement began on 14 February.
More than 1,000 hospital workers marched to the square Sunday, demanding the resignation of the health minister, accusing him of hampering efforts to help protesters during the police crackdown.
King Hamad bin Issa al-Khalifa has ordered the heir to throne, Crown Prince Salman, to launch dialogue with the opposition.
