French local election campaign kicks off but not all lists approved

Campaigns for France’s local elections officially start on Monday although parties and groups have already been active for several weeks. Official candidate lists were submitted at the end of last week. Not all have been approved. Some candidates on a list in Paris was rejected because it included foreigners. But despite the rejection, they have said they will continue to campaign.
