Calls for declassification of Karachigate documents

Issued on:

Families of the 11 French engineers killed in a suicide bomb blast in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2002 are demanding that French documents relating to the attack be released. Families of the victims are taking French government officials to court to find out what happened, and there are also investigations into an arms deal in the mid-1990s. The government has said it would full cooperate with the investigation, which has been dubbed Karachigate; but not all the documents have been declassified.
