Bojan Vuckovic, 24, was wanted by Austrian police after robbing a jewellery store in Vienna two years ago. He was picked up n the Montenegrin-Serbian border.

Interpol has created a special task force to bring down the Pink Panther gang. The gang is suspected of robbing jewelry stores worldwide over the past decade to the tune of 250 million euros.

Interpol has worked with other government agencies to tackle the Pink Panther problem. Other arrests have been made in Cyprus, France and Monaco, Interpol said in a statement.

Interpol "will seek to draw on the latest elements following the arrest of Vuckovic to pool and review investigative information to help identify further members, and other accomplices linked to the gang."

Three Serbs were jailed from six to 15 years in France last September. Another member was jailed a year ago in Cyprus.
