Armed robber grabs jewels worth 40 million euros from Cannes hotel
An armed robber made off with 40 million euros-worth jewellery from a hotel in the French Riviera resort of Cannes on Sunday morning, investigators say.

The hold-up took place in broad daylight, police said, with the man grabbing a case of
jewels with an estimated value of 40 million euros at the Cannes Carlton Hotel.
A jewellery exhibition was taking place in the hotel at the time.
The hotel’s management has so far declined to comment.
Nice police are invesigating the crime.
During this year’s Cannes Film Festival jewellery worth a million euros was stolen from a safe in the Novotel hotel.
