It all started with Afrique Enchantée, a music programme on French public radio, which then morphed into a live show, complete with the 12-piece Les Mercenaires de l'Ambiance orchestra. Now its three founders - EMCEES Solo, Vlad and Hortense - have released an album: 13 songs from the 60s and 70s that open a window onto the continent's social and political history, guaranteed to get you dancing.
