Tunisian journalists went on strike Wednesday to protest against what they see as efforts by the Islamist-led government to curb press freedom. Several media outlets marked the strike with a complete blackout or limited services. Journalists' unions accuse the coalition government of trying to manipulate editorial content by appointing managers loyal to it. At the Dar Essabah press group several journalists have been on hunger strike since last week after talks with authorities broke down.
