Women pilots take health care to lake Volta

Issued on:

Lake Volta in Ghana takes up almost 20 per cent of the country's landmass providing a livelihood for upwards of a million people. As well as giving life, the lake also harbours waterborne diseases that kill hundreds of people every year. The NGO, Medicine on the Move, has just been given permission by the Ministry of Health in Ghana, to drop health-related materials by plane to hard-to-reach communities. We take to the skies to see how women pilots are improving access to healthcare for communities around Lake Volta.
