As taboos break down around Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the French military, doctors are looking to alternative treatments to address a problem that affects an increasing number of soldiers. According to a parliamentary report published in February, 12 per cent of participants in the Sangaris operation in the Central African Republic returned with psychological troubles, including PTSD.
