France looks to horses to treat soldiers with PTSD

As taboos break down around Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the French military, doctors are looking to alternative treatments to address a problem that affects an increasing number of soldiers. According to a parliamentary report published in February, 12 per cent of participants in the Sangaris operation in the Central African Republic returned with psychological troubles, including PTSD. One treatment involves horses. RFI looks at how therapists are using horses to treat PTSD and other mental and physical ailments.
