A total of 2,000 bottles will go on sale at this prestigious auction organised in partnership with Christie’s.

The vintages range from 1846 to 2009. The oldest wine is a Meursault Charmes.

The auction will comprise 220 lots. Each bottle will have a new label and neck collar based on the original designs. Oak boxes have been made especially for this event.

The wines have been taken from the Bouchard Père & Fils cellars which are protected from vibration (the walls are up to seven metres thick), and kept at a consistent temperature and humidity, thus creating ideal conditions for wine aging.

Bouchard Père & Fils is a highly renowned wine domaine in the Burgundy region of France. These historic vineyards produce a variety of appellations. The vines cover a total of 130 hectares, including 12 ha of Grands Crus and 74 ha of Premiers Crus.

According to Gilles de Larouzière, owner of Bouchard Père & Fil cellars, Hong Kong is the best place for this auction because Asia is "very enthusiastic with French grands crus and more recently with the Bourgogne ones".
