Could Taiwan-Philippines maritime spat have regional implications?

Taiwan has held a series of military exercises in waters off the northern Philippines in response to the Filipino killing of a Taiwanese fisherman.The exercises came after the Philippines rejected repeated demands for apologies for the incident from Taiwan. Now, Taipei has recalled its envoy and imposed sanctions on Manila, including a ban on the hiring of new Filipino workers. RFI spoke to Michael Dillon, a China analyst, about the wider regional implications of the dispute.
