Japan's PM Shinzo Abe tours South-East Asia

Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe is on a tour through South-East Asia, his first foreign tour after his election earlier this month. The trip comes at a time when Japan and China are engaged in an increasingly tense territorial dispute over a group of islands. RFI spoke with Carlyle Thyer, a military analyst in the region, about Japan's motives and the prospects for its relationship with the People's Republic of China.
