California universities fight DACA termination

By Ryan Thompson

In early September US President Donald Trump announced the end of a program called Daca that his predecessor Barack Obama introduced, and which gave legal protection to children and teenagers who’d entered the United States illegally.

Many young people in the United States now don’t know what is going to happen to them. Because Obama’s programme started as a proposed law, known as the 'Dream Act', many of these young immigrants are known as 'Dreamers'.

Correspondent Ryan Thompson reports on how students in California, many of whom are 'dreamers', are reacting to the end of their legal protection.
