Magic in the Moonlight - next Woody Allen film set in south of France
Woody Allen's next film is set in France and has already been shot. Magic in the Moonlight will be the US film director's third film shot in France but the first outside Paris.
Issued on:
Allen has a huge following in France and over a million French cinema-goers have seen his current release, Blue Jasmine, despite a mixed critical reception.
His film Hollywood Ending even has him directing a film that is saved from commercial disaster by an unexpected success in French movie-houses.
Allen has recently filmed in Spanish Catalonia, Rome and London and his films Everyone says I love you and Midnight in Paris were both set at least partly in the French capital.
But, reports say, Magic in the Moonlight leaves Paris for the Côte d'Azur, where it was filmed this summer.
It is now apparently in post-production and little has been revealed about its plot, apart from the fact that it is a romantic comedy set in the 1920s.
Its stars are Emma Stone and Colin Firth along with Jacki Weaver and Marcia Gay Harden.
Magic in the Moonlight will be the 47th film Allen has directed and is due to be released next year.
