During the fourteen year presidency of Hugo Chavez, the country underwent much change. The poor, who were largely ignored before he came to power, now have a louder voice. But crime, electricity outages and double-digit inflation are among the problems now fuelling discontent. In the first of a five-part series on Venezuela, RFI looks at the country’s next steps under Chavez’s successor, Nicolas Maduro.
