One of the best-known notions in science is the so-called "infinite monkey theorem". The suggestion is that, given a typewriter and enough time, a monkey could reproduce the plays and poems of William Shakespeare. Now a computer wizard in the United States claims to have done almost that albeit with a high-tech twist. Among this week's recreated texts is Shakespeare's final play The Tempest. Shakespeare scholars will recall the line "Now I will believe that there are unicorns".
