International organisation helps migrants return to Senegal

By Emmanuelle Landais

As part of its voluntary return and reintegration programme, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) helped more than 200 migrants return to Senegal in 2015. To ensure that they are able to settle back quickly into the Senegalese community, IOM organised a workshop on self-employment to strengthen the capacities of returnees, particularly in the area of managing their personal businesses. Emmanuelle Landais heard about some promising business ideas at the workshop in Dakar.
