Morocco's cultural heritage series, Part 4/4

Issued on:

For centuries, intricate handicrafts have found a production base in Morocco and today over a fifth of the population still make their living this way. The government recognise the importance of this 1.35 billion euros industry and a Ministry of Handicrafts works to expand this recognisable part of Moroccan life and culture, though some fear such interference could irrevocably change the long traditions of artisanal work. In the last of a four-part series, RFI’s Nancy Fleming has been meeting some of the master craftsmen and through Culture Vultures you can meet some of the country's artisans too.
