Judges: the new force in Pakistani politics

Pakistanis go to the polls on Saturday and the former coalition government leader Pakistan People’s Party is having a tough fight holding onto power. It faces a stiff challenge from opposition parties, and it says it has another enemy: the judiciary.  The legal profession helped to bring down former military ruler, Pervez Musharraf, in 2007 and it hasn’t been much kinder to his successors.
