Fifty circus artists from Africa are currently performing in the Cirkafrika show here in Paris. In a world first, young talent from South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana, Congo and Guinea perform a host of numbers at Paris's Cirque Phénix - one of France's largest big tops. Cirque Phénix's founder, theatre director Alain Pacherie, had always dreamed of putting on a 100 per cent African show to riva lthe Chinese and Russian schools. The show runs in Paris through to 13 January before moving on to Switzerland and Belgium. Circus promoters from Broadway have shown an interest!
