In Swaziland, tens of thousands of unmarried, virgin girls have paraded bare-breasted before King Mswati III during celebrations for the annual "Reed Dance" in Lobamba. There are reports that anti-democracy songs were also performed, including one describing banned political parties as keen to "set people against each other." Sibongile Mazibuko, a mother and teacher, supports this coming-of-age ceremony, but she told RFI she laments the fact that it is compulsory for the girls to attend.
