Eiffel Tower reopens as strike ends
The Eiffel Tower reopened on Saturday afternoon after a strike by security staff at the Paris monument.
Staff employed by the Byblos company, which provides security at the Eiffel Tower, voted to resume work on Saturday.
Representatives had reached an agreement with the company after all-night negotiations.
The Eiffel Tower announces it is open again
The CGT trade union said that practically all the security personnel joined the strike over the suspension and possible firing of three employees who had protested about changes to shift patterns.
The monument reopened at 1.30pm Paris time on Saturday.
